Due to the numerous complaints I have received about this
new owner and his dishonesty to compensate me

And due to New Property Ownership more than doubling our rent and terrible management:

             1) our Non-Working Security Gate for months at a time
             2) our neighborhood’s degradation with the high increase of Crime
             3) homeless on property 24/7, encampments behind each of our 3 fences and in our entire
                 business neighborhood.
             4)
vandalisms, thefts, break-ins (not ever mine “thank you God”) but, Yes!  On each side!

            5) the movement and parade of John’s cars and Prostitution away from Harry Hines to Shady Trail
             6) so much more!

I made decision to retire & relocate the business and sell/partnership:

But this New Buyer and Unprincipled Person I thought was a prayer for the business remaining in existence to assist our 50 year customer base, referrals and new customers was worse than the thieves, burglars and all the ne'er-do-wells on Shady Trail.

  To NOT give our customers our continued 5* customer service or compensate me “A Dime” for the business and full operational content;
*I have taken over the phone numbers he asked for trying to get them FREE
*Also asked the website password and wrote them hosting company asking to contact
*Tried to stop him from using our 4.5* Google and 5* Yelp Reviews
*Tried to block him from using our Good Name and Reviews. Which he is and will continue to do because of having customers knowing and dropping by our 50 Year Location on Shady Trail.
*And demanded he not refer or misrepresent himself as Dallas Silversmiths, Dallas Metalsmiths or DMS Dallas Metalsmiths in ANY WAY, Shape or Form though to date is still probably using our custom receipts and polish and solder and bags and AC System and and. .

I apologize for thinking and trusting this man in my desire to give my loyal customers a “choice” in the Greater Dallas FW area for the company’s continued services.

I could have sold the company several times but refused because I did not think “they would take care of the company and customers as I did”.  And look what I DID!!

*PLATING! He made me take out all the plating facilities.
*They Do Not Do Plating as his website says.

And I am sorry to say not having a retail facility I cannot legally do plating for you. And all the commercial platers like Texas Precision Plating and Nortex Plating among others that referred their customers to us for years have minimum order requirements.  Some do not do offer Gold and Silver and None offer custom color matching I offered.  However “call me” and I will see if they will do it for me?

The new owner wanted me to take out the plating so he could make room to park his car??!!! What!!!

*Engraving!  They do NOT do engraving as his website says!
          *Contact Holsapple Engraving
(214) 357-8449

And Please Please People do NOT trust anyone else with your engraving. I cannot tell you how many times customers would bring us items other engravers Damaged or Ruined!

“We always referred our customers to Holsapple Engraving and would take in the engraving as a free service (at our cost) with repairs and orders.”

*Welding of Steel, Iron, Aluminum and other Heavy Metals
*I always referred to Minnet Welding and Fabricating
 972 241 7184
A very unique individual and “lost art” master of his craft.  Mr. Minnet is closed for lunch 12 to 2 and does not answer phone during lunch hours.   He IS worth the wait and try to speak English.

*For restorations of Art, Paintings most all items that are not Metals and have been referring us to their metal restoration customer for YEARS
           *I do not refer
Brown Mountain Art & Restoration  because they refer Me! But because I have used them and what their customers tell me.. they are all so pleased with their artistic craftsmanship. 214 824 3205

*Selling or Buying Gold or Silver or wanting to locate Sterling Jewelry of Patterns
          *That is ME!!

*Wanting Gold or Sterling Jewelry Repaired? Made? Designed?
          *That is ME!
Customer brought me this to make awards for Navy Service men.
I asked if I could have / use my artistic license?

Ufff  No photos  Ask Me!   Be Amazed!

However, My ONLY other option to not attempting to “Do the Right Thing for my customers and attempt to keep the Good Company name alive” was to close and liquidate contents.

And I am sad to say “You and I would both have been better off.”

“For those of you that have no complaints I am pleased and happy for you.”

And, My Sincerest Apologies to all who have had a bad experience and thank you for contacting me “in warning me to see the writing on the wall.”

This place is great!  The owner is honest, professional, and very willing to give advice.  I've taken several pieces there for repair and they come back looking brand new.

Zachary  I will give suggestions and recommendations to assist in the Best and Most Economical Service

Dallas Metalsmiths re-plated an antique jewelry box for me. The owner took plenty of time to go over my options for finishes and make suggestions for what would look best. He even offered to add one addition "finishing touch" for free, simply because he thought it would make the piece look even better. They did the work quickly, and I couldn't be happier with the results. The box had been worn down to the pot metal–no silver left at all–so I couldn't have imagined how beautiful it was with the plating and the finish he chose to highlight the detail. It's just stunning, and I'll admit I cried a little to know that I would be able to enjoy my Great-Grandma Cora's jewelry box–a wedding gift from her parents–looking much like it looked when she received it.

Dallas Silversmiths (Zachary)  YES I remember you Wendy and your lovely Victorian antique jewelry box. SO HAPPY you liked the work we did on it and I now have a before and after photo here to show others what we did for you! Many have opted for the same look.
Thank you for taking to time to leave a review! We know that most people only take the time when they are UPSET!

And, for those of you that do not know me; be prepared to hear the truth.
And, you may hear me tell you (while I cannot put a value on the “personal sentimentality of your item”)
           a) it will cost more than it is worth to repair

   b) that I can “locate” the item in fair to excellent condition for Le$$ Than The Cost of Repair!!
           c) or a referral of someone that can assist you with a Better & Le$$ expensive Service

Thank you so much! I came wanting to get my table legs re-plated and Zachary told me that it would be too expensive and to get them powder coated instead. Thank you for being honest and kind!

Comment from Zachary G. of Dallas Metalsmiths Thank you for your nice review Hallie.
People and friends ask me all the time "why do you do that and turn away money… or charge the fee I did when I could charged so much more?"
      It's because I CAN!
Just this week I told a customer I could "locate" a pair of heirloom candelabras for a LOT less money than it would cost to re-plate them.  Less money for me but I do it because, while I cannot put a sentimental value on a customers piece, I can give them the option of saving money.
I have been in the business since 1980 and have an extensive data base to draw from to locate items.
This customer opted for me to replace them.  He will pick them up next week.  I hope he will leave a review.
I realize that most people only take the time to give reviews when they are upset and not when they are pleased.
So THANK YOU SO MUCH Hollie! Very courteous of you.

Dallas Metalsmiths AKA Dallas Silversmiths is No Longer at the Shady Trail Address and is not affiliated with the company now at our Old location.

DMS Dallas Metalsmiths (formerly Dallas SILVERsmiths) is NO LONGER in business at the Shady Trail location. Due to terrible management of new building ownership, High Crime, out of control Homeless Encampments, Vandalism, Theft, High Crime, High John’s Traffic at all hours and out of control prostitution it was decided to shut down and move. We hopefully will be back in full Business SOON! We can still be reached by Texting 972 620 8866 or 8867 or email me personally at zachariasnonya@gmail.com.

Until and Unless some agreement is made with the new business at our old Shady Trail location we have no affiliation and have asked that the company that “took the name: “D” Metalsmiths” (sound familiar?) not use our referrals, references or refer to our business names of Dallas Metalsmiths, *DMS* Dallas Metalsmiths or Dallas Silversmiths in any way; as we have been known since 1972.

Thank You Dallas – OK City – Houston – and all of our out of State Drive-In and mail in customers!!!

Miracle (and Memory)-Makers!!! When my grandmother died some 40 years ago, I was given a wine cup that had belonged to my grandfather. The cup was well over 100 years old and had most probably come from Russia or Poland. Unfortunately, many years ago it had fallen in a garbage disposal and, as seen in the photo, was severely mangled. It then spend 35 years going from one shelf or shoebox to another, with me constantly telling myself that someday I would get it fixed. In preparation for my daughter's wedding, I was asked if I had a cup that could be used in the ceremony. I found the ruined cup and went searching for someone in Dallas who could do tell me if the cup was salvageable and, if so, who could fix it. the search was simple – "Silversmiths near me" led me immediately to Dallas Silversmiths. When I brought the cup in I immediately knew I had made the right choice. They immediately knew what to look for regarding the cup's makeup, and made no promise they knew they could not keep. Specifically, they promised they would try, but did not promise they could succeed. What the did promise was that they would keep me up to date on their progress, which they did almost immediately, buy taking "before" pictures with the receipt, and sending them to me. they also promised a delivery date and, again, kept their promise. But finally, and most importantly, is the final product. For that, the photos speak for themselves. On top of the excellent work done, both the owner and the craftsman were great guys to work with; extremely courteous and eager to please and work with me. I would never recommend anyone other than Dallas Silversmith for any metal work.

Positive: Professionalism, Quality, ValueThis is the second time they have rebuilt the prongs on my engagement ring, which is literally my most prized possession because my husband made it by hand. These guys are so professional, so knowledgeable, so polite. I wouldn't trust this ring with anyone else. Sterling is soft and I'm rowdy, so I'll definitely be back next time I wrangle a prong loose.

Excellent work! I had 3 solid brass vintage 1983 faucet sets polished and they look better than my new $500/set ones from California Faucets.
The work was priced more reasonably than other metalsmiths that I have used in Dallas and the lead time was shorter.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review and great rating. We realize that some items like bathroom fixtures are "rather important items" for every day use in the home! That and front and rear door knobs restorations or color change plating we move ahead of other jobs to expedite their turnaround return time. This is done as you know without an extra "RUSH" charge.

Needed some old silver plated and knew this company had been around for a long time. Took to another plater first and they said it would be several weeks to get the job out and the price was very high I thought. These guys got the job finished in ten days and for a lot less money. Very happy with the finished product therefore would recommend when you need this type of service.

I was thrilled with the work that Dallas Silversmiths did repairing dents in a 19th century Japanese Meiji silver and gold vase. The cost was very reasonable and the work was done in a couple of weeks! I couldn't ask for more

Had a brass faucet, had it renewed the summer of 2018 and today it looks like it did when we took it in.
No harsh chemicals used on it, I have treated it with kid gloves as we do all things . Not happy. A waste of $800 !!!

Dallas Silversmiths Inc (Owner)

Marianne. Why would you have not called us? WE GUARANTEE OUR WORK! To be honest if I were you I wouldnt have given Two Stars!

Please call us at 972 620 8866 to have it redone at no charge. It is very upsetting to you I KNOW but even more so to us that you did not allow us to take care of this for you by a simple call.

We would not have charged $800 for a single brass faucet? Let us now if there are other pieces that had a problem as well and we wIll take care of the total order that might have any problems.

In plating and especially color change plating there can be a result we call bleed out. We look for this as it usually shows up immediately or within a few days. It is necessary to strip what plating process was done and redo it all. It does happen but rarely that it can happen over a longer period of time.

I have also left you a message on your facebook as the phone number posted on google for you is no longer good. Hopefully, if we did the work as we do receive calls mistaking us for another company, we can take care of this problem for you immediately.

We had a gentleman bring in a tub faucet he said we had done for him over 10 years ago and said it was time to have it redone "again". When he came to pick it up we didnt charge him a dime! Told him it should have lasted longer!

And unfortunately there is a rude and dishonest customer like Leslie Venable. I see you have never taken the time to leave anyone a positive review. This might say a lot about you sir. Maybe some people receive what they dish out to others?

This "watch dealer" came in over two months ago and asked me to save a watch. He didn't have cash and was going to come "right back". Came in today and immediately starts putting down the watch! "OH It is much bigger than I thought.. Too Big!"

Funny but the very next customer that came in asked to see it. I told him the story of Leslie and he said if he is a watch dealer he knows this Sea-Dweller dive watch and how big it is.

To say it is bigger than he remembers was a ploy to get price down and any business person knows it.

So, I hand him the watch and said yes it is big. I told him when I bought it I said I wouldn't have to wear dive weights it is so big and heavy.

He then says "Oh it NOW has a huge scratch on the crystal!

Now sure he is "kicking the tires" as it had a miniscule scratch and I said, "if it has a scratch now it had it then when you said you wanted it".

Then asks how much I wanted for it?

He is the one that made me the offer that I agreed to?

 .
I said, "You are a watch dealer. You made me an offer and I said yes. That was a few months ago and I don't remember but I will sell it for what I have in it."

I said jokingly "I am blonde and over 60" and just don't remember now and we are very busy working on a customers order in back. I cannot remember right this minute what I even gave for it. I think it was $400."

Since he was trying to get a lower price that he originally offered he didn't like the same price.

I put it back into the case and said its ok if you don't want it.

He then states as he is walking out "I Brought Cash and I see WHY you are busy."

Maybe we both got up on the wrong side of the bed today.

I try to treat people as I am treated. If he is a respectable dealer and says he will be right back with cash he should honor his commitment. Not kick tires.

And this is the first negative review I have had in 9 years here at our company. Probably wont be the last… LOL.

I wonder how many negatives this "gentleman" has had? Oh, his "company" isn't listed? Why does that not surprise me. Maybe I should have asked for his tax ID before I accepted his "dealer price". This watch sold new for over $1200.00. I think he is very very upset he lost his profit on this one. See what greed can do for you Leslie?

I was going to say I will not bother giving him a negative. Couldn't if I wanted to since his company is not listed anywhere.

Beware of Leslie Venable, I see you have changed your moniker to Logan Kingbiscuit or whatever name you will use next week

 Regards,
 Zachary

I've had excellent results using DSI to polish old solid brass fixtures for a bathroom remodel. I also loved the job they did for me on a $4,000 chandelier that my client bought from their contractor. It was all polished and brushed nickel but the candlesticks were white. Zachary plated the candlesticks with a brushed nickel finish and my client was happy. My orders have always been completed when promised and the prices are more reasonable than the competition. Lead times are much shorter than the competition! There are only a few metal smiths in Dallas and I've been very pleased with the work I've had done recently.

My grandmother's antique silver water urn, frame and goblets were seriously damaged in an accident by a houseguest and I was afraid that they would never be the same – Zachary and Felix worked their magic and reshaped, restored and resilvered this beautiful set and it is once again my pride and joy! I couldn't be happier or more satisfied with the delicate and detailed work they did and highly recommend their services!

I took in my mother's sterling silver pie server that was given to her by a woman who had taken care of my grandfather when he was a child.  The handle had separated from the server about 20 years ago and she continued to use it without the handle.  I took the server to Dallas Silversmiths to see if they could fix it for her in time for Christmas.  They said they were very busy, but would try to have it done by the 24th.  They didn't know that if it would be salvageable though, since the handle didn't have a very deep shaft for the server to sit in.  I handed it over to them in hopes that they might be able to pull off a miracle.  Within a week they called me back to let me know that it was polished and ready (with plenty of time before the holiday).  When my mother saw the server she cried and told me that it was in better condition today than it was when she was a child, and it looked like new.

I would definitely recommend  Dallas Silversmiths to anyone that needs their silver repaired. I plan on

Just wanted to say I brought the crappiest bone handle steak knives that we bought over the internet. Zachary explained he didn't know how they would turn out, but he would do his best.
Well, they came back perfect, ok better than perfect. This guy knows his stuff.
I recommend this place very highly.
I have some very old candelabras in need of repair and Dallas Silversmith is where I'm going.

This place is great!  The owner is honest, professional, and very willing to give advice.  I've taken several pieces there for repair and they come back looking brand new.

I had a great experience with Zachary and Dallas Silversmiths.  I brought some knives to him for repair (which would have been costly), but instead of just taking my money, Zachary encouraged me to contact the place I purchased them.  He advised me on what to tell them…and they agreed to repair them for free!  It's really great service when a business owner forgoes an order so that you can save money!

Zachary is knowledgable and helpful and, above all, really honest.  I would go back in a heartbeat.

This shop was recommended by another business. Although hours are limited, once I was able to get in to have a piece polished, the owner (?) was nothing but nice. Even though he was busy, he took the time to provide some education on silver and how it tarnished and was able to assist me immediately. I would return and recommend this shop!  I walked away with my necklace polished and ready to wear (I put it on before I walked out…lol)!!!

Could not disagree more with Jason L.  I'm a repeat customer of DSI.  I have a home in old East Dallas with lighting dating back to the 1930s.  In both cases, I brought the piece in with the idea of simply 'restoring luster' and got more than anticipated in the way of service.

What I got were calls as they went through the restoration process, informing me of the type of metal uncovered and the options for how to restore.  Example: one hanging lamp, appearing to be all antique brass on delivery, proved to be a combination of two different metals once stripped.  Zachary suggested taking advantage of the combination to develop accents and finished out one section of the lamp so I could see what he was talking about.  I agreed and could not be happier with the end result!

The job was not completed overnight, but as I put in calls for status I was always answered in a polite & courteous fashion.  I found the pricing to be comensurate with the work.  These guys do great work, and I recommend them highly.

Zachary is a magician and went above and beyond with a brass tray that I had used as a base for my houseplants. I had pretty much destroyed the tray; however when he returned it, it looked like new. In addition, the cost was reasonable for the work done.

We are refurbishing an antique bank teller cage that has been setting in a garage for the last 50 years.  Estimate that it dates from the 1890's.  The decorative metal insets were heavily oxidized and in terrible condition.  Our efforts to clean on our own were a were a waste of time.  We took the pieces to Dallas Metalsmiths.  The expert advice and skill led to a beautiful restoration.  It was sandblasted to remove the corrosion, re-plated in copper with just the right amount of patina to give a beautifully maintained – but antique look.  Could not have been happier with the work – and the experience.

Dallas Metalsmiths replated an antique jewelry box for me. It's just stunning, and I'll admit I cried a little to know that I would be able to enjoy my Great-Granma Cora's jewelry box–a wedding gift from her parents–looking much like it looked when she received it.

17 years ago my wife and I bought a home that had all solid brass fixtures that had become somewhat worn looking over time.  I took them to Dallas Silversmiths to be stripped, polished and resealed.

Now, 17 years later the faucets in our master bath have again become worn looking due to constant use so I returned them to Dallas Silversmiths for a re-do.

Imagine my surprise when they said " the finish should have lasted longer" and offered to do the work for free.

Dallas Silversmiths restored a sterling dish that had been dropped and damaged. I got a quote for a reasonable dollar amount and a reasonable amount of time for the repair. When I went to pick it up – it looked amazing. The quality of work and final product was exactly what I had needed and wanted. Thank you!

I used Dallas Silversmiths to fix and restore my grandmother's beautiful coffee/tea set and tray. Both pitchers had broken handles, and were in overall pretty bad shape. They were great communicators, did exactly what they said they would do and when they said they'd do it. But the proof was in the pudding. The results were SPECTACULAR. I was seriously mesmerized by how beautiful it turned out. I have some other pieces, and will definitely be bringing them to Dallas Silversmiths!!!

Very good result with a pair or earrings. They were a sentimental pair that needed to be made into clips. An intricate job- and perfect.
The also sized a silver bracelet and the work was so well done that the place of he alteration was invisible.

I recently took some drawer handles and a bath faucet to be replated and sealed for my bathroom remodel project that Nole- Davis had sat on for 2 months or more with nothing but excuses, unanswered phone calls or computer generated queries about the status of my job.

Zachary had all done for me in about 2 weeks looking just as I had requested…beautiful!

I had visited several other silversmiths to see about re-silvering my aunt's wedding tea set and get the dents out of the coffee pot.  I chose Zachary because he cared about the set, handling it very lovingly. He was knowledgeable about the style. Through careful listening, he wanted to give me, the customer, what I wanted, not what I "should have." He spent quality time with me reviewing options. While I thought things over, two other customers came in the store with lesser items, but just as dear to them. Again, he spent time, giving them options and listening to what they wanted.

When my pieces were done, he had to ship them to me in North Carolina. The packing was superb!  No scratches or dents. And the pieces turned out beautifully!  I couldn't be more pleased with the way Zachary comported himself , did the work, and returned them to me in short order.  I can recommend him highly.

I have had excellent results with Mr. Gobson at Dallas Silversmith. Always does a great job. He repaired an old (1930's) electric chafing dish. Replated some silver pieces as well as putting a protective coat on my Tiffany candle sticks. No more polishing! great work and very reasonable priced.

WooHoo is right!  I took in some old corroded bath and kitchen brass faucets and fixtures and wanted them silver.  They offered .999 silver or Nickel!  Of course I went for the Nickel and then they offered polished or satin or something else.  Very accommodating and he even told me the "satin" would be cheaper than the mirror polished because of time and labor.  I opted for the satin.  No many give you an option for a less price.

They said for plumbing since people obviously NEED THEM they do a rush "in by Monday morning – Out by Friday or before!  Mine were done on Wednesday.  Price was palatable.

Could not be more happy with the work performed! They transformed my antique brass bed that was in extremely poor condition into a real showpiece. Considering the degree of challenge and amount of labor involved, the price was very reasonable. And the project did not take nearly as long as I expected! Highly recommended.

I got Zack's name and number from Brown Mountain Art & Restoration folks in reference to repairing a unique, round metal picture frame. I spoke with Zack and arranged a convenient time for us to meet and took the frame with me. He was most helpful and insightful about the origins of the piece. He gave me a bid for the repair work. He finished the work in a timely manner. I went to retrieve the piece and couldn't be more pleased with the repair. He is unique in character but is a true craftsman. I would trust him with any repairs I need in the future and am more than happy to refer his services to anyone interested.

I brought my grandfather's 1908 oil lamp from Ireland, a TRUE heirloom, to Zach and Dallas Silversmith. He told me that "it would take a while" due to the age and sensitivity of the lamp. Oh my goodness! The results were truly breathtaking. He brought the lamp back to its 1908 beautiful condition, and directed us to a lamp store in Richardson.
Thanks to Dallas Silversmith I have my grandfather's wedding present from 1908, with a majestic antique lamp cover. I am so very very grateful for Zach and Dallas Silversmith for bringing a Merry Christmas to my family's holiday.

I absolutely recommend this company!  After my father passed away we found a pillowcase full of his and my mothers wedding silver. The lot of it was black, many pieces dented.  I took the items to Dallas Silversmith, was greeted warmly and helped to make economic choices on which items to restore.
Every piece looks wonderful, fully restored back to their original state. Very nice and reasonably quick for this type of work!

I contacted Zach and discussed replating a peace medal that's been in my family for many, many years. I brought the medal in and explained what I wanted done. I was given a verbal estimate for the work I wanted, after agreeing I was given a written estimate for the agreed upon work. Zach contacted me within a week to let me know the medal was done. I went to pick up the medal and found the work to be first class! I paid the agreed upon amount with no problems whatsoever. I was treated like a valued customer. I would recommend Dallas Silversmiths to friends and I will return there for further work.
